We.Leveren.be is an existing local digital distribution platform for sending packages that are ordered at local web shops. It has been in use since 2022, with currently 100 local traders from Leuven and 6 neighboring municipalities ASL users. Shipments sent via this platform to local customers, do not travel unnecessarily to a large distribution center, but are processed and delivered locally. In addition, the packages are collected from local traders or in mail machines with an emission drivers and in a bundled collection round, in order to avoid maximum emissions. Packs with a destination outside the region will follow the normal flow. Once an order is completed with a trader, a shipping order can be created in Wij.Leveren. This is currently manually, via a .csv or via an API coupling (currently for Shopify, WooCommerce, Tilroy and Lightspeed C-Series). The platform automatically sends the data to the chosen courier service afterwards. Today they are bpost and a local bicycle courier, as part of this project it is still added.
