SYNOPSIS
The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) is an inter-agency committee authorized to review transactions that could result in control of a U.S. business by a foreign person (“covered transactions”), with the intention of determining the effect of such transactions on the national security of the United States. As such, CFUIS has a mission-critical need for its staff to gain better insight into real estate purchases, leases, and concessions. Having access to this kind of information better assists CFIUS examine questionable transactions and contextualize them within America-s complex national security issues.
