DCU is seeking to ascertain the marketplace for a resource with the necessary experienceand expertise to perform the role of commercial lead for Project Sirius.Project Sirius aims to develop and commercialise a liquid biopsy for the early detection of breast cancers, using an AI-driven Surface Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy platform. The project requires a Commercial Lead to be responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy, including market analysis, business planning, and stakeholder engagement.A suitable resource would have a minimum of 10 years C-suite level management experience in internationally trading in vitro diagnostics and in-depth knowledge of current and emerging breast cancer screening methods. The resource will have proven fundraising success across EU and Irish grant funding, equity investment of over €15m and stock exchange initial public offerings. Experience with IP acquisition and licensing is essential as is first-hand experience of CE marking medical diagnostics and negotiating diagnostics distribution agreements.Previous market analysis undertaken by DCU indicates that the requirements described in this Document fall within the exemptions set out in Regulation 32 of the European Union (Award of Public Authority Contracts) Regulations 2016. In addition, the estimated contract value of DCU-s requirements is below the financial thresholds at which the application of the Regulations is required. Accordingly, DCU is using the simplified sourcing process outlined in the attached document.
