The company supplies waste and recycling services to all residents of the owner municipalities and serves approx. 55, 500 housing units with dunk renovation, 5, 000 housing units with buried solutions and 3, 700 cabin subscribers. In addition, the company operates three recycling stations, and a large waste facility at Støleheia with various processing activities such as sorting, composting, chipping and disposal. Avfall Sør Husholding AS is the client for this competition. The waste is transported to Støleheia, where it is composted in its own facility. The finished compost is further processed into soil products which are sold for various purposes. From 1 September, new takes over supplier the collection of household waste on behalf of the client. In this connection, a reorganization of the collection routes is carried out, and the collection frequency for food and organic waste is changed from weekly to collection every two weeks. The change is part of Avfall Sør's work to increase the sorting of food and organic waste. Analyzes show that there are still significant amounts of food waste in the residual waste, and the aim is to move a larger proportion of this over to the bio-waste scheme.
