the physics institute of the university of zurich plans to obtain a cnc 5-axis milling center. On this machine complex complex parts are to be produced for various research and teaching projects of the various research groups at the physics institute and other universities. The cnc milling machine is mainly used in the area of probut also in the field of small series production. The selection of a fraes machining center with turning function is obvious, as the requirements for the complete processing in the ultra-high vacuum range are steadily increasing. So with this machine also vacuum flanges can be hoechster surface finish (usually turned) in sealing area, directly machineddue to the very wide range of materials that are processed, high demands are placed on the completely sealed inner lining of the machine.
