REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS BACKGROUND The City of Surrey (the “City”), as part of its Climate Change Action Strategy (CCAS), is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and achieving absolute zero corporate emissions by 2050 with no reliance on offsets or negative emissions technologies. This ambitious target reflects the City-s leadership in climate action and determination to contribute to global efforts at limiting temperature rise to 1.5ºC. The City-s Civic facilities include over 140 buildings such as libraries, pools, community centers, fire halls, and museums, among which fifteen (15) facilities have been strategically selected as high-impact buildings based on their energy consumption profiles and potential for significant Green House Gas (GHG) reductions. To significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its public-facing facilities, the City has prioritized selected buildings for detailed examination and planning. The City reserves the right and discretion to select proposed facility locations on an as per need basis. All quantities are anticipated quantities only and may decrease according to the needs of the City.
