University of Waterloo requires a VR Immersive CAVE to enable visual motor integration research from a vision-first perspective. This vision-first perspective is foundational to developing novel treatments for concussion and persistent concussion symptoms. It will enable the first comprehensive assessment of the real-world visuomotor deficits caused by amblyopia and provide a foundation for developing new treatment and rehabilitation strategies targeting specific aspects of visuomotor control. The VR Immersive CAVE will be installed and operated in the Canadian Vision Imaging Centre (CVIC), a new research hub for biomedical science and imaging, dedicated clinical research space for treatment trials, med/tech development, and a tele-optometry and imaging hub to improve access to eye care across Canada. The CIVC is a core research facility in the in the Waterloo Eye Institute (WEI), Canada-s leading eye and vision care center of excellence.
