Description : In support of the Tourism Industry Skills Program (TISP), the Department of Tourism - Region xI (DOT xI) is committed to enhancing the human resource capabilities in the tourism sector by addressing skills gaps and upgrading industry practices. These efforts aim to elevate customer satisfaction, improve industry competitiveness, and ensure the sustainability of tourism-related services.
As part of the TISP's focus on Safety, Security, and Sustainability-which receives 30% of the total program funding-DOT xI, in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard, will implement the following:
• 5-day Water Safety, Survival, and Rescue (WASAR) Techniques Training Course on 18 - 24 July 2025 (covered by LGU Governor Generoso and City of Mati, Davao Oriental)
• 3-day BLS and First Aid
• 7-day Lifeguard Training Course
These back-to-back training programs aim to equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in water safety, search and rescue, basic life support, and lifeguarding techniques.
