The Province of Limburg is at the beginning of a major modernization of its information management. This modernization drive is necessary due to rapid technological developments, increasing digitalization and partnerships, and the increasingly strict and changing laws and regulations. This includes, among others, the new Archives Act, the Open Government Act (Woo), the Electronic Administrative Traffic Modernization Act (Wmebv), the Digital Government Act (Wdo), the Information Security Baseline. Government (BIO), and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The current application landscape, with outdated and fragmented systems, appears to be increasingly less able to support organization, management and society in a safe, efficient and future-proof way of providing information. To meet these challenges, the Province of Limburg has drawn up a clear vision for its information management. The basic principle is that information is sustainably accessible, safe, is managed efficiently, to a high standard and in a compliant manner. For employees, this means more overview, simplicity and uniformity; Optimal transparency and service are central to society.
