Overview:
Greater Wellington Regional Council-s (GW) Regional Transport Department is looking to expand its knowledge of carpool rideshare services that could support the delivery of our work programmes. Our programmes include workplace travel survey and planning services, promotion and delivery of active transport options and advocacy and support for public transport use.
GW and the Capital and Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) are collaborating on a plan to manage travel demand for the Wellington Regional Hospital. One of our objectives is to reduce reliance on single-occupancy driving to and from work by making public transport and multiple-occupancy options more attractive.
To make it easier for staff to share vehicles, we are seeking to establish a carpool rideshare service, initially for the Wellington Regional Hospital. In addition, GW expects to promote this tool through our workplace travel programme.
This tool will enable staff at large organisations to find colleagues with whom they can share the empty seats in their car, for the journeys to and from work. It will:
• match people by origin and destination and start and finish times
• match carpool ride sharer groups to preferential car parking options.
GW is looking for credible Software as a Service providers, who have the capability, experience and infrastructure to deliver carpool rideshare services across the region. What we are looking for is a service that is currently ready to use or is currently in New Zealand.
Responses to the RFI are to be delivered to submitted no later than 5pm on Friday 18th Feb 2022.
