The EU-STREIT PNG Program promotes sustainable economic development in East Sepik and Sandaun Provinces. The ILO-led transport infrastructure component of the EU STREIT PNG Program enhances market access for cocoa, vanilla, and fisheries through climate-resilient roads, air strips, and waterways, using employment-intensive and gender-inclusive approaches.Since work commenced in 2020, the component has achieved the following:•Rehabilitated more than 160 km of roads (by June 2025).•Maintained 312 km of roads by 312 community members (51% women, 33% youth).•Upgraded five airstrips and cleared 215 km of Sepik River tributaries.•Generated 320, 000+ workdays, contributing USD 16 million locally.•Trained officials, contractors, and communities in infrastructure management.The ILO seeks a Site Engineer (Consultant) to be based in Nuku (from October 15, 2025 January 31, 2026) to support supervision of 35 km of road rehabilitation in Nuku District.The Site Engineer shall be supported by an ILO Team based in Wewak, Port Moresby, Suva, and Bangkok Offices, and shall collaborate with local stakeholders and UN agencies under the overall coordination of the FAO.
