Dear Bidder, The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator.Below is a summary of the work to be performed:The notion that the Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work are "mutually reinforcing" was highlighted in the Conclusions of the Recurrent Item Discussion on Fundamental Principles & Rights at Work at the 112th Session of the International Labour Conference in 2024. Based on this, the proposed research project aims to review available evidence and literature on the relationship between freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining (FACB) and the effective abolition of child and forced labour. This includes looking at the role workers' and employers' organizations may play, individually and jointly, and under which conditions, in reducing the risks of child and forced labour. The findings of the paper will allow for better targeted research on FACB in relation to approaches to address child labour and forced labour and help inform efforts towards this end.The consultancy will involve a systematic review of academic and policy literature, mapping and analysis of survey microdata and recommendations for case studies informed by semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders.
