General Procurement Notice for Building Construction for the National Forensics Science Service Complex. The Medical Examiner's Facility building shall include a Pathology Lab holding the necessary sanitary previsions to avoid contaminations, as well as proper ventilation, dressing rooms and bathrooms for the pathologists, storage for human bodies, photography area, Xrays for the age identification of victims, fractures, location of projectiles and projectile fragments, refrigeration areas for specimens and materials, areas for the collection of microbiological and toxicology specimens, including chain of custody examinations, recording equipment, among others. The Forensics Laboratory building shall include areas for the chemical testing of evidence, biological analysis, ballistics (firearm section) and a storage centre for refrigerated and non-refrigerated evidence. This building shall be built in accordance to the Forensic Laboratories: Handbook for Facility Planning, Design, Construction, and Moving of the national Institute of Justice from the Department of Justice of the United States of America. The Forensics Laboratory building shall include areas for the chemical testing of evidence, biological analysis, ballistics (firearm section) and a storage centre for refrigerated and non-refrigerated evidence.
