Description
SYNOPSIS
BRU-55 Maintenance and Inspection Test Stand and BRU-33/55 Lift Beam Assy
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to issue an award on a Sole Source basis with Zitec Inc. (Cage: 1R9V9) for the procurement of a quantity four (4) BRU-55 Maintenance and Inspection Test Stand, P/N: Z69739-10, NSN: 4920-01-612-0420; and quantity four (4) BRU-33/55 Lift Beam Assembly, P/N:Z69740-10 in support of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) F/A-18 Program. These items are used to accurately and rapidly accomplish adjustment to the Standby Magnetic Compass compensation magnets; determine deviation errors to be recorded on the calibration card; and eliminates the need for manual rotation of the aircraft along the 24 headings, which is required for calibration of the standby compass calibrator.
The Government intends to procure the above items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1), FAR 6.302-1. Zitec, Inc. owns the proprietary rights to the engineering data and detailed product drawings for the BRU-55 Maintenance and Inspection Test Stand and the BRU-33/55 Lift Beam Assembly. Any other sources would need to possess the drawings/technical data to be able to perform this requirement. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT POSSESS THE TECHNICAL DATA PACKAGE/DRAWINGS TO ALLOW FOR A COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT.
All responsible sources may submit a response which may be considered by the Government in determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for an award of a contract. Responses must be received within fifteen (15) days of publication of this notice.
