The Cenotaph Memorial statue, constructed in 1925, with additional lettering later added to recognize WWII and the Korean conflict, is a historic public landmark commemorating the sacrifices of Islanders in military service. As the 100th anniversary of its unveiling approaches in 2025, this culturally significant site requires restoration to address structural issues, preserve its aesthetic, and ensure the site is safe and accessible The scope of work generally includes the following: ❖ Current condition assessment ❖ Cleaning to remove corrosion and degraded wax coating ❖ Patina application to restore the original appearance ❖ Protective wax coating for long-term preservation ❖ Straightening of the bent bayonet ❖ Development of Ongoing maintenance plan Proposals must be received by the Purchasing Officer before 2:00:00 pm local time on July 4th, 2025.
