Domestic violence is common in Belgium. A police intervention in this context can be experienced as very drastic by children, which often manifests itself in learning and behavioral problems at school. The Handle with Care (HwC) methodology is international and Flemish proven methodology to provide timely support from school to children who are confronted with such police interventions at home. The HwC method is already applied in the Mechelen region and requires a strong operational approach continuation, expansion to multiple regions throughout Flanders and innovation of the rollout. In that context, the Justice and Enforcement Agency (AJH) wishes that the contractor is responsible for both the development of a concept for further rollout and the implementation and execution of the further rollout of HwC throughout Flanders.
