The SBB intends to close open-air loading facilities in Zurich North (including Niederglatt and Rümlang) and centralize them in Bülach. The Bülach location is easily accessible by both rail and road and already has the necessary facilities for receiving freight trains. The higher traffic volume requires the expansion of the facility and its separation from the P+R facility.
