The aim of the SGB is to capture the state of health, health behavior and the use of health services to the population. It was carried out for the first time in 1992 and has been taking place every 5 years since then. In 2027 the eighth survey will be carried out. She is one of the five thematic sample surveys within the framework of the new census system introduced from 2010.
The main topics of the survey are:
* State of health: physical, psychological and social well -being, complaints and diseases, disabilities;
* Health behavior: Lifestyle characteristics and behaviors, e.g. physical activity, eating habits, smoking, alcohol and drug use, use of medicines;
* Use of the offers of health services as well as preventive behavior (vaccinations, cardiovascular risk-risk factors and early cancer detection);
* Socio -demographic characteristics of the person interviewed and the members of the budget (migration status, training, labor market status, household form).
