Bcec Chiller & Cooling Tower Upgrade Program
The project shall replace three main load Chillers and their associated pumps, all eight Cooling Towers, all secondary pumps (including pipework modifications) and all central plantroom MSSBs. The project will be let as a Design and Construct project to meet the performance requirements of this specification including detailed design, selection and documentation for the approval of BCEC and its representatives. The program to replace the equipment is likely to span multiple years and has potential to cause significant impact to BCEC’s normal business. Therefore, this project is required to have a high level of engineering and documentation in the early stages for approval so that a single point of reference is available to ensure consistency between these projects to achieve the best operational outcomes and meet BCEC’s requirement to maintain normal business operations throughout the project. A staged approach to the project has been prepared to progressively change over equipment with lower impact on overall system operational performance. It is intended that each stage is completed and tested prior to the following stages commencing. Detail is provided in the following sections and throughout this specification.
