Starting in the spring of 2026, Region Stockholm intends to test the use of BESS (Battery energy storage system) at a location in the Stockholm archipelago for a period of two years. For this purpose, we will purchase a system that is at least 1 MW that can be accommodated in a 20-foot container that will be placed on a pontoon whereby a ship must be able to dock to quickly charge the ship's batteries.
