Tender are invited for Development, production, and test of the Barracuda Mine Neutralization System (Barracuda) as part of the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Mine Countermeasure (MCM) Mission Package (MP). The Barracuda will be initially deployed from the MCM Unmanned Surface Vehicle (MCMUSV). This system will be used to neutralize mines that have been previously located by other mine countermeasure assets. The Barracuda will be a modular, low cost, semi-autonomous, expendable neutralizer conforming to the form factor of an A-size sonobuoy. Barracuda will use wireless communications, allowing for tetherless operation from the deployment platform. Barracuda will be hosted aboard the LCS to execute MCM missions and at shore-based MCM operations to perform Fleet training. Barracuda will conduct reacquisition, identification, and neutralization from the surface through deep water during day and night operations.
