Project Description: The City of London Corporation (the City) invites Tenders for the provision of Barbican Theatre LED Lights. The duration of the contract is 2.5 months. The Barbican Centre is refurbishing its main theatre over the period of February 2026 to May 2026 and is seeking to replace its tungsten production lighting system with more energy efficient LED production light systems during this time. This will eliminate the need for external light filters as the LEDs can create a much broader range of colours through built-in controls. Upgrading to a new LED system will enable the Barbican Centre to optimise energy efficiency and cut down on waste generated by the theatre productions. The specifications of the lights as scoped by our lighting technicians includes a range of different types of theatre stage lighting from fresnels to profiles and wash to shuttering moving lights, which will replace our exhausted 2.5kW fresnels and our 2.5kW profiles. The combination of lights within the specification is needed to meet the requirements from the range of production companies that the Barbican works with. This is a supply only contract. The delivery of the lights for the main theatre is required within 8 weeks from when the purchase order is raised and those for the pit theatre (e.g. small moving profile lights) are required within 10 weeks from when the purchase order is raised to align with the period of refurbishment and the production schedule of the theatre.
