SUBJECT: Sources Sought Notice- Autonomous Food Production System - Technical Demonstration and Pilot W90VN9
1. Purpose: This is a Sources Sought Notice issued solely for market research purposes under FAR Part 10. This notice is not a request for proposals, quotations, or bids. No contract will be awarded from this notice.The U.S. Army 411th Contracting Support Brigade is conducting market research to identify potential South Korea-based vendors capable of delivering an autonomous food production system in support of a 6-month technical demonstration and operational pilot at Camp Walker, South Korea.
2. Background: The 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command (ESC) seeks to evaluate emerging autonomous kitchen technology to expand meal access for Soldiers beyond traditional DFAC hours. The objective is to provide 24/7 access to healthy, made-to-order meals that align with Army nutrition and readiness goals while reducing the labor burden on culinary personnel (92Gs).
3. General Capability Requirements: Interested vendors should be able to demonstrate the ability to provide a self-contained food production system that meets the following functional expectations:
Produce up to 80 made-to-order meals per hour in a modular or fixed setting. Operate within a footprint of 10 square meters or less. Provide healthy meal options that support Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) guidelines, including display of macronutrients, dietary tags, and calorie counts. Enable secure, QR-based entitlement access without collecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Include a touchscreen user interface and intuitive dashboard for usage tracking, inventory, and system monitoring. Support local maintenance and system uptime with vendor-provided troubleshooting and spare parts availability in Area IV. Operate on commercial Wi-Fi or cellular networks without NIPR/SIPR connectivity. Support exportable data compatible with Army food tracking systems.
