IRE ELiT is one of the few global suppliers of germanium-68 (68Ge) / gallium-68 (68Ga) generators that have been approved as a drug in Europe and as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient in the United States. The radionuclide generator is a system for the elution of gallium-68 (68Ga) chloride solution for radiolabelling. This chloride solution is eluted from a column on which the mother nuclide germanium-68 (68Ge), parent of gallium-68 (68Ga) is fixed on a titanium dioxide sorbent. The column is currently filled manually with the titanium dioxyde sorbent. In order to improve the robustness of the column packing and with a view to increase the production capacity, IRE Elit intends to automate this step.
