Through this request for proposals, the Mayor's Housing Innovation Lab and the Boston Home Center are soliciting proposals from service providers with the tools and expertise to support 10 households earning up to 135% of the AMI assume mortgages and obtain secondary financing, if needed, for homes in Boston at an overall average interest rate that is at least one percentage point less than conventional or government-sponsored mortgage rates. The selected service provider will be expected to support buyers with identifying eligible homes with assumable mortgages, executing the required documents necessary to assume the mortgage, obtain secondary financing consistent with the City of Boston's Loan Standards, and close on the home in a timely fashion.
