The Board is seeking the services of a pre-qualified Architectural Firm to provide architectural and consulting services including Design Development, assistance with Contract Documents & Tender development, and Construction & Contract Administration for the renovations as further specified herein.
The Successful Bidder will be required to design and administer the construction of the following scope.
Visual inspection of all Siporex (roof slabs, floor slabs, pilasters) by structural engineer including crawl spaces. There are some areas where contractor will be installing access hatches to gain access to Siporex panels (Confirm with UCDSB Project Manager to ensure that access hatches are installed prior to inspection)Reports to include floor plan, photographs showing condition of each area, description of existing conditions and existing support structures, existing repairs and patches, areas where asbestos containing materials have been applied to Siporex panels, comprehensive surveys of quantities of Siporex located at each site.Recommendations for immediate repairs if any.Recommendations for replacement priorities as budget allows.Recommendations for ongoing maintenance and inspections.Recommendations for method of replacement.Hiring of Structural Consultants.Reports to be stamped by a Structural Engineer.There are 19 Schools/Sites included in this project
