Detailed_Description : Supply Ontario is establishing an Enterprise Vendor of Record (EVOR) arrangement for the provision of Archaeological Services to support Ontario Public Sector (OPS) and the Broader Public Sector (BPS), also referred to as Non-OPS. The successful Vendor(s) will be required to conduct archaeological assessments, burial site investigations, monitoring, and related advisory services in accordance with the Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists (Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism, 2011).Assignments may include work on Ontario Public Sector (OPS) and the Broader Public Sector (BPS), also referred to as Non-OPS Clients owned properties, rights-of-way (ROW), and adjacent lands, as well as collaboration with Indigenous communities and other stakeholders. The Vendor(s) will be expected to demonstrate technical expertise, cultural awareness, and compliance with applicable legislation, standards, and ethical requirements in the performance of all archaeological work.The Vendor(s) will also provide professional advice and assistance to the Clients in interpreting regulatory standards, preparing technical reports, developing archaeological management plans, and supporting consultation and engagement processes with Indigenous communities.
Scope of Work : The scope of work for Archaeological Consulting Services may include, but is not limited to, the following activities:•Prepare Archaeology Assessment Report in accordance with the Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists (2011).2.1 Archaeological Assessment Stages(a) Stage 1 - Background Study•Conduct a Stage 1 Archaeology Assessment to provide information on property geography, history, prior fieldwork, and existing conditions.•Evaluate the archaeological potential of the study area and develop recommendations for Stage 2 assessment strategies.(b) Stage 2 - Property Assessment•Perform Stage 2 field investigations to identify, document, and evaluate archaeological resources.•Determine if further assessment (Stage 3) is required and recommend appropriate strategies.(c) Stage 3 - Site-specific Assessment•Conduct Stage 3 assessments to determine site extent, artifact characteristics, and cultural heritage value or interest.•Recommend mitigation or conservation strategies based on site findings.•Ensure that all reports identify the Client and grant full reliance on the report.(d) Burial Site Investigations•Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists, specifically as applied to burial site investigations.•Identify appropriate methodologies and seek Ministry technical guidance for complex or unusual burial contexts.(e) Stage 4 - Mitigation of Development Impacts•Prepare mitigation or avoidance plans for archaeological sites, including excavation or site protection strategies.
