The Town invites proponents to submit proposals for the commissioning of Public Art at the new Saugeen Shores Aquatic and Wellness Centre (AWC) located in Port Elgin. The Town recognizes the important role that Public Art plays in community and has dedicated space within the AWC for Public Art through wall art murals.
Under the Town-s Public Art Policy (resolution 303-2024) an artist is defined as the designer/creator of an artwork who has:
completed specialized training in their artistic field;is recognized as an artist by their peers as such; is committed to their artistic activity; and/or has a history of public presentation.There are two (2) locations designed for wall art murals within the AWC.
Proponents may include one or both locations within their proposals.
