Due to its location near Antwerp and the presence of the Albert Canal, the municipality of Wijnegem plays a dual role: on the one hand as an attractive residential area with a green and village character, and on the other hand as an economic pole. The current municipal spatial planning structure plan dates from 2006 and is in need of renewal. With the Wijnegem Municipal Spatial Policy Plan (BRW), the municipality wants to explore spatial opportunities and possibilities. This is done through qualitative design research and a participatory process with focus on co-creation. The BRW forms the basis for a climate-proof and livable village on a human scale. Object of the assignment: Drawing up the BRW including EIA plan. Implementation of communication and participation processes with partners and the population.
