Appointment of an external service for prevention and protection at work (EDPBW) AZ Herentals and AZ Turnhout have been working together for 15 years to strengthen healthcare in our region. We are going one step further by merging into AZ from 1/1/2027 Kempen. AZ Turnhout and AZ Herentals currently work with 2 different external services for prevention and protection at work, but we are legally obliged to switch to 1 external service for the merged hospital AZ Kempen. Number of employees: 3, 100 AZ Turnhout: approximately 2, 250 AZ Herentals: 850 Number of Prevention Units (PE): 2, 500 AZ Turnhout: approximately 1, 800 AZ Herentals: 700 Current content (not exhaustive): - Medical examinations - Health surveillance - Psychosocial aspects - Company visits and screenings - Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work (CPBW) - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Training - Occupational safety - Occupational hygiene/measurements - Ergonomics - Policy The object of this framework agreement is the appointment of an External Service for Prevention and Protection at Work (EDPBW) in application of the legislation: • Act of 4 August 1996 regarding the well-being of employees in the performance of their work • Codex on Well-being at Work, especially book II, title 3 'De external service for prevention and protection at work' and Book I, title 4 'Measures related to the health surveillance of workers'.
