Description
The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Base Support Branch (AFLCMC/PZIBB) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB), OH intends to award a sole source contract to:

This requirement is for the following:

CLIN 0001 Apogee Spin Coater with accessories 1 Each
CLIN 0002 Apogee Spin Developer with accessories 1 Each
The contract will be a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Commercial Purchase Order and carried out as a sole source action (not competitively awarded). The statutory authority which permits other than full and open competition for this acquisition is 10 United States Code (USC) 2304 (c) (1), as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b). This authority is supported by an approved Single Source Justification. The applicable NAICS code is 541715 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Nanotechnology and Biotechnology). This NAICS code has a small business size standard of 1, 000 employees.
The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) requires an Apogee Spin Coater and an Apogee Spin Developer with accessories to process silicon wafers for production of Microelectromechanical (MEMS) and Nano electronic circuits for Electrical & Computer Engineering Department (ENG) cleanroom courses. These instruments are used in student research projects for thesis presentation in the graduate school of Engineering. AFIT students also utilize the WPAFB Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) cleanroom to process these wafers using their Cost Effective Equipment Apogee Spin Coater for Photoresist and Apogee Spin Coater for Developer instruments.
The Government intends to standardize these instruments by purchasing the Apogee Spin Coater for Photoresist and Apogee Spin Coater for Developer to allow continuity of training, partnering of research and backup support within both AFIT and AFRL. Cost Effective Equipment LLC ...
