The Finnish Environment Agency (Syke) tenders the procurement of laboratory analyzes related to water monitoring, mapping and studies of pesticides it organizes. The goal of the acquired laboratory analyzes is to obtain reliable data on the concentrations of plant protection agents, biocides and their transformation products in natural water samples. The results of the analyzes are wanted directly in the information systems of the environmental administration, where the selected laboratory must obtain storage rights. Environmental Administration The information systems can be found at https://www.syke.fi/fi/ymparistotieto/kartta-ja-tietopalvelut/avoimet-ymparistotietatarjestelmat.Surface water monitoring of pesticides partially fulfills the water management monitoring requirements and therefore analytics must cover where applicable, pesticides and analysis methods must be compatible with water management monitoring and reporting requirements. The requirements for water management are given in the government decree for the water environment on dangerous and harmful substances 1022/2006 in the appendices. Separately named substances with environmental quality standards are in appendices 1C and 1D, and analytical requirements in appendix 3. The regulation will soon be updated due to the directive change (EU 2026/805). Among other things, the directive changed the substance list of EU surface water priority substances.
