The following is being provided to request for capability statements to determine if the requirement will be set-aside to small businesses and is being provided to enhance competition and allow industry adequate time to develop acquisition strategies
Background - The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, located in Dahlgren, VA is a center of excellence in regards to the design, development, and integration of technologically superior warfare systems for the 21st century. NSWCDD conducts advanced research in all systems-related areas and pursues scientific disciplines including physics, mathematics, directed energy and digital engineering, modeling and simulation, software, mechanical, electrical and systems engineering. NSWCDD works to provide to Sailors and Marines worldwide with the information and technological capabilities and solutions they need to defend against those who would do them harm.
NSWCDD currently employs several Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) professionals who require (onsite and remote) dedicated interpreting services to meet their communication needs in the workplace. These services are required throughout the year for each individual for various meetings. These individuals are employed in the STEM (i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Administrative/Technical Specialist disciplines. It is the intent of the Command to continue to recruit, hire and retain qualified employees with various disabilities including Deaf/HH individuals to meet the mission of the Command.
