item description- this requirement is for altium designer suite printed circuit board (pcb) design software that will allow engineers and technicians to produce schematic capture and pcb design files and other electronic assemblies. Total cost of this requirement is $32955.00 with delivery 4 weeks aro. This software will be used to produce pcbs (printed circuit boards) is needed to support the repair/production of the rantec alq-184 high voltage power supply a2 module.
Sole source procurement- the proposed contract action is for the supplies or services for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source; altium, inc. La jolla, ca. 92037 under the authority of far 6.302-1 only one source will satisfy the requirement. This is being sole sourced because this product must be compatible in all aspects with existing systems presently installed. A different manufacturer's pcb design software would interrupt current work flow due to the necessity for training and the need to establish familiarity with the graphic user interface. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. However, a determination by the government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this solicitation is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
