A global initiative designed and managed by theInternational Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, it servesas a curated membership platform that unites commercial banks in emergingmarkets with global financial institutions and key industry leaders toaccelerate green banking in countries that need it most through peer-to-peerknowledge exchange, thought leadership, and community building. The Alliance-sfirst regional chapter was established in Asia, with the Hong KongMonetary Authority serving as the regional anchor, and Bank of China (HongKong), Citi, Crédit Agricole CIB, HSBC, and Standard Chartered as CornerstoneBanks. Phase1 (Impact Framework Design, 2025) delivered the conceptual foundation for theAlliance-s Impact Framework, including: o A Manifesto articulating the collectiveaspiration of member banks to green commercial banking.o A definition of Green Commercial Banking and an Excellencein Green Commercial Banking Framework, consisting of eight[1]dimensions that encompass the fundamentals, actions, and enablers necessary forachieving excellence in green commercial banking. o A Self-Diagnostic Questionnaire with 130questions, aimed at collecting a comprehensive set of 57 Indicators coveringthe eight dimensions of the Green Commercial Banking Framework.o An Impact Framework Methodology withcorresponding progression matrices and a four-level classification assessingbank-s progression toward excellence in Green Commercial Banking: Initiating, Integrating, Accelerating, Advanced.o A Dashboard Concept detailing three visualperspectives: (i) Member Bank View, (ii) Alliance Secretariat View, and (iii)Public/Aggregated View.o A Roadmap for implementation and yearly updates.
