Expression of Interest are invited for Albania Prevention and Management of Construction and Demolition Waste in Coastal Landscapes.
The objective of this consultancy is to (i) map the construction and demolition waste sites along the Vlora coast and by the Vjosa River basin; (ii) where the amounts of C&DW could produce high recovery rates, identify cost effective recycling options including through the construction value chains; (iii) carry out priority ranking of C&DW dump sites along the Vlora coastline and Vjosa River basin; (iv) formulate policy and regulatory provisions (regulations and institutional infrastructure) including a national plan for C&DW treatment vis a vis construction business, to ensure sustainability of actions and encourage adoption of sound environmental management practices of C&DW; (v) identify 1-2 potential sites for inert waste landfills in harmony with the feasibility studies for Waste Zones to identify small-scale solutions and integrate with the regional facilities; (vi) develop implementation plans for the pilot sites as agreed in coordination with the World Bank team.
