The Lock Complex Strandeiland IJburg (hereinafter referred to as the Lock Complex) consists of the Fatima Mernissi bridge (bridge 2061), Lock 0125, the Pampuskade between the Lock and Bridge 2062 and part of the water in the Havenkom and aims to:

1) safe and smooth passage of recreational shipping up to klasse MB/Z-MB through the lock and the harbor basin, from Markermeer to the Oog and vice versa;

2) Allowing land traffic (bicycles and pedestrians, emergency and emergency services) to cross smoothly and safely across the chamber without this constitutes a (fixed) height restriction for shipping;

3) The protection of Sbeach island against flooding (Water barrier);

4) The prevention of large water level variations on the infrastructure/banks of the inland water;

5) The quays provide a separation between land and water and locally a place to moor.
