AFEID is the contracting authority for the Scientific and Technical Committee for Agricultural Water (COSTEA) as part of AFD funding (French Development Agency, funding agreement CZZ2162 signed on June 6, 2017).

Services
The services of the consultant will aim to identify and qualify agro-ecological practices and innovations in irrigated agriculture, with a scale going from the plot to the perimeter, up to the territory, as well as conditions for successful agroecological transitions in the agricultural system. irrigated. The service will include a coordination / facilitation component and a component with three regional projects in each of the COSTEA priority regions, namely, the Maghreb, West Africa and Southeast Asia (Mekong Region). The Consultant may be required to recommend relevant sites to conduct field efforts for the inventory and analysis of the performance of agroecological practices in irrigated systems, targeting:
• In the Maghreb: an oasis zone and a large hydraulic perimeter
• In West Africa: a market gardening perimeter in a peri-urban zone and an agricultural hydraulic perimeter in a SAGI zone
• In South-East Asia: a flooded rice growing area and a rice growing area with total water control

Maximum duration of the site: 24 months
