Background:

Aerostat systems are elevated command, control, communications, computers, cyber, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance platforms equipped with a variety of payloads to fulfill force protection, operations support, communication extension, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions.
