Within this division, the International Methane Emissions Observatory (IMEO) plays a central role in reducing methane emissions by integrating high-quality data collection, scientific analysis, and stakeholder engagement. IMEO focuses primarily on the oil and gas sector through initiatives such as the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership 2.0 (OGMP 2.0), which promotes accurate, measurement-based emissions reporting and targeted abatement strategies.
