Background within the framework of the SENACIT/IHCIETTI CAPACITY STRENGTHENING PROJECT TO PROVIDE INTEGRATED SCIENCE SERVICES, Technology and innovation to the Honduran population, financed with national funds and direct execution through the Honduran Institute of Science, Technology and Innovation (IHCIETI), the strengthening of institutional capacities for use and appropriation has been established as a strategic priority of emerging technologies, especially those related to monitoring, collection and analysis of geospatial data. Likewise, the urgent need for the technical staff of the institutions involved to have the official certification required for the Remote Piloted Aircraft Operation (RPAS), in accordance with current regulations established by the Civil Aeronautics Honduran Agency (AHAC). This certification is indispensable to guarantee a safe, responsible and legal use of drones in national territory, ensuring compliance of operating and air safety standards, as well as the strengthening of institutional capacities in the ethical and efficient use of these emerging technologies.
