The proposed static or auxiliary current converter device must be suitable for battery charging in the 24-36 V voltage range with a DC 600/750 V overhead line network voltage (the setting depends on the auxiliary voltage level of the given vehicle), as well as the auxiliary network in addition to the maximum voltage setting, also in the case of a continuous load of 200 A (expected useful, maximum delivered power: 7.2kW). The device housing should be designed with an IP 65 enclosure. Charging the battery and supplying energy to the auxiliary network directly from the overhead line is happening. The recommended type should ensure gentle and reliable charging of the battery with a small current fluctuation (in accordance with DIN 41773). It must be possible to start the equipment even without the existence of a counter voltage, the battery charging equipment must operate with deep discharge also in the case of a battery (Blackstart function).
