This is dedicated to the study of turbulent mixing between gaseous species subjected to accelerations and impulse decelerations by shock waves (Richtmyer-Meshkov instabilities). The department plans to acquire new measuring equipment as part of a research project related to the CEA's Laser Mega Joule program. This material must allow the acquisition and analysis of images of induced fluorescence produced by pulsed laser illumination of traced gas in acetone vapor. The objective is to quantify the mixture between gaseous species representative of the species used in the fusion process by inertial confinement. The technique implemented in connection with this means will be laser plane-induced fluorescence (PLiF).
