Acquisition - Korsatunnel, 2026
The purpose of this procurement is to upgrade the Korsa tunnel with associated covered urban space at the southern end, called Sørenden. Sørenden is located where Kipervikgata meets Keiser Wilhelms gate. The Korsa tunnel is a covered "city street" and forms a shortcut for pedestrians in the center of Ålesund. During the day, the tunnel connects the south and north sides of the city. In the evening it closes. There is a need for structural measures in the tunnel based on emergency considerations: among other things, water leakage at the tunnel's entrances must be repaired and lighting replaced. The tunnel needs improvement of the ceiling, walls and floor. Since the deck in Sørenden is an extension of the deck in the Korsa tunnel, it is natural to upgrade parts of the deck here as well. The project is to be carried out as a turnkey contract in accordance with NS 8407. The project is planned to start immediately after the signing of the contract with detailed design, and the project has a planned completion time of 6 months from the approved building application. The project cannot physically begin until the Christmas market has been held in the cross tunnel in December.
