Implementation of recommendations as detailed in the Accessibility Audits: renovate entrances (floor finishes, built in security desk, turnstile system); remove and provide new handrails at entrances and required exits; provide new floor finishes in public corridors, elevator lobbies, washrooms, and common areas; provide protection at water fountains and remove and relocate (delineate) waste/recycling/emergency preparedness and information stations; provide grab bars at standard washroom stalls for limited mobility users; provide universal, accessible washrooms; one on each typical floor level (7 washrooms); provide new ramp and handrail at parking level elevator lobby; revise/remove portion of benches to create barriers free access to lockers in changerooms and modify shower stalls. Exterior improvements: delineate rest areas, pedestrian, and bike traffic with guards/barriers; provide handrails at exterior (exit) stairs; complete a signage study of entire facility (signage consultant fees only); undertake visual alarm study (electrical consultant fees only); provide guard and handrail at freight elevator and at north wing elevator ramp; provide new/rest seating at public common areas (entrances and cafeteria). Consultant to conduct a site review to confirm the accuracy of the report including a code comparison between the CSA B651-12 and the latest code and identify any discrepancies.
