Detailed_Description : Public Health Ontario (PHO) believes that the following procurement qualifies as a sole source or single source procurement. The purpose of this Advanced Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is to determine if there are other suppliers capable of meeting the requirements of the procurement for the following services for PHO.Vendor - Roche Diagnostics Services - Outlined in the ACANPurpose - Fully Automated NAAT Assay System for Qualitative Detection and Differentiation of HIV-1 and HIV-2 in Human Serum, Plasma and Dried Blood SpotsPublic Health Ontario (PHO) serves as the reference laboratory for HIV testing in the province of Ontario. PHO follows the HIV diagnostic algorithm developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This process begins with an enzyme immunoassay (EIA) for initial screening. If the EIA result is positive, a confirmatory antibody test is conducted. In cases where the confirmatory antibody test yields negative or inconclusive results, nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT), also known as polymerase chain reaction (PCR), is performed.PHO believes that Roche Diagnostics is the sole provider capable of providing all required goods in the Canadian Market that is Health Canada approved.PHO intends to award a seven (7) year contract to Roche Diagnostics for the goods described in the ACAN attachment.This request does not constitute a call for tenders.
