The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) is an economic immigration program that helps address labour market shortages by issuing nominations for permanent residence in Alberta to entrepreneurs and individuals who have the skills needed by Alberta-s labour market. The program is administered by Immigration and Multiculturalism in conjunction with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The Government of Canada has provided Alberta with a 50 per cent year-over-year increase in nomination allocations in 2023, with nomination allocations increasing further in 2024 and 2025. The AAIP has also increased the number of streams under which people may be nominated. With an increase in nomination allocations and the addition of new streams, the AAIP program area has begun to face resource availability and capacity challenges. The purpose of the contract is to obtain external consultation services to undertake an operational excellence project (using the Lean Six Sigma process improvement methodology) to identify and implement process efficiencies to alleviate the need to acquire additional human resources.
