The Fietspoort Spanjaardsbrug project contributes to the transition to sustainable mobility where we encourage walking, cycling and the use of public transport. The main route over the Spanjaardsbrug is on a frequently used regional cycle route (approximately 10, 000 cyclists per day) for, among other things, commuting, school traffic and recreational traffic. However, space around and on the Spanjaardsbrug is too limited. This places various users at risk of unsafe traffic situations such as: consequence.
