IE invites Applicants to participate in the pre-qualification process to appoint suitably qualified companies to a Qualification System (QS) for the treatment and control of various type of invasive plant species, at ad-hoc locations throughout the IE Rail Network. Those companies successfully appointed to the QS will receive all future tender enquiries. Invasive plant Species will include (but not limited to) Japanese Knotweed, Giant Hogweed and Buddleia as well as other species such as: Three-Cornered Leek, Himalayan Balsam, Giant Rhubarb. Background Information: IE have invasive plant infestations, that will require a treatment plan (application method and number of treatments) for each infestation. IE will require the expertise of experienced companies to carry out the treatment plan. The company would provide all necessary equipment and expertise to undertake these works in a safe manner. For example, if traffic management, MEWP or boat access is required it will be the contractors- responsibility to provide these items. IE would supply all track protection arrangements and personnel. IE may issue ad-hoc tenders from this QS to the qualified companies; however it is intended that a multi-party, multi-lot Framework Agreement will be issued from this QS to the qualified companies in the future to cover the above requirements.
