SYNOPSIS:INTRODUCTION: In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 10.002(b)(2), this Sources Sought Notice is for market research and information purposes only at this time and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation on the part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) is conducting a market survey and is seeking potential sources for the Replace Boiler Plant Construction project at the Bronx VA Medical Center located at the James J Peters VA Medical Center, 130 West Kingsbridge Road, Bronx, New York 10468PROJECT DESCRIPTION:The purpose of this project is to:The primary project objective is to replace the existing three 40, 000 lb/hr boilers at the Bronx, NY VAMC.As part of this effort, the tasks include renovations of the Boiler plant and ensuring the project meets VA TIL/design guides mitigation measures.The project is to provide professional construction services for the replacement of the boilers and associated equipment within Building 101 located at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, NY. This project will involve replacing the majority of the equipment and piping systems associated with the water tube steam boiler generation system. The heating requirements of the James J. Peters Medical Center are met from the central hearing plant which houses three 40, 000 lb/hr boilers that generate high pressure steam (130 psig) which is distributed throughout the medical Center. Pressure reducing stations reduce the steam pressure to both medium and low pressure as required for the equipment being served. Condensate is gravity returned to condensate receivers located in the service tunnel and pumped back to the main condensate tank located in the central plant.
